The area of Sabaki is extremely poor and lack any income-generating activities to meet the needs of the local population. Agriculture and fishing are the only two sources of income.
The MATUNDA SABAKI project will finance agricultural activities on an area of 18 hectares in Sabaki, including the digging of a well; the purchase of seeds and tools; the installation of a solar water pump powered by solar panels and an emergency generator and the construction of border fencing.
The privately owned land has been provided free of charge for the use of the Dioceses of Malindi.
The income from the agricultural activities shall be used to support a local healthcare facility.
