The project is dedicated to the memory of Meheret Teshome, a very young girl prematurely departed for a serious desease.
A dedicated private donation allows Amare nop to create a project in order to fight the school drop-out of 60 girls from 15 to 18 years, in Bahir Dar area.
The project is now concluded.
The project was under the custody of DASSC, the Committee on development and social services of the Ethiopian Evangelic church Mekane Yesus, with which Amare npo has been collaborating since 2013. The Committee had selected 60 beneficiary girls coming from rural areas, in economic difficulty and without further support. In the 3 schools, where the girls attend the IX and X classes, the "Girls Club" were created, each of them with a chosen leader. In the clubs were held activities about sanitary information and activities supporting the fight against school drop-out. In particular, the girls are supported in the study of the English language, biology and chemestry. The project is now concluded. The final report is available.
